The clash between Hougang United and Etoile Football Club at the Hougang Stadium was called off after a brawl among 30 to 40 players erupted during the pre-match warm-up. It is believed to be the first time in the league's 16-year history that a match has been scrapped before kick-off for disciplinary issues. Witnesses told The Straits Times that the free-for-all was sparked by an unidentified Etoile player who ventured into the side of the field where the Hougang players were stretching.
