Singapore's wild boar population growing. Sial! Babi lah!
Singapore is seeing a mini population explosion - of the hairy, tusked variety. Wild boars, which used to be a common sight only on Singapore's offshore islands of Pulau Ubin and Pulau Tekong, are now making their presence felt on the main island. In the most recent sighting, a senior bank officer and his wife saw one while they were cycling along Serangoon River on Vesak Day last week. Such sightings could be seen as an indication of the burgeoning wild boar population on mainland Singapore, according to some experts here. More in The New Paper on Tuesday (May 24).
