SINGAPORE : Singapore's Changi Airport registered a 13.7 per cent growth in passenger traffic to over 3.73 million for the month of April. The airport attributed the growth in passenger traffic to the 13.9 per cent increase in aircraft movements to some 24,270 flights. It said passenger traffic from most regions enjoyed double-digit growth compared to the same period last year. Eastern Europe registered the strongest year-on-year growth of 23 per cent, followed by Southeast Asia at 18 per cent, and Western Europe at 17 per cent. Low cost carriers continued to be the growth driver, carrying 26 per cent more passengers compared to a year ago. Full service carriers also enjoyed a double-digit growth of 10 per cent in passenger traffic.
