The 7429 strong crowd at Jalan Besar Stadium for the quarter-final tie between LionsXII and Pahang FA would have been forgiven if they had thought the home side was parading their new warm-up kit. Decked in all white and standing out were the black bold words, ‘Be Strong Adrian’. LionsXII players and coaches donned the specially made shirts in support of Gombak United player Adrian Dhanaraj. Adrian was forced to retire after being diagnosed with stage two of Hodgkin's lymphoma, which is a cancer of the lymph tissue in the lymph nodes. Adrian is now undergoing treatment and according to his father, Peter Dhanaraj, his son is eager to overcome this minor setback and be back on the field when he is fully recovered. “Every morning he will go to the gym for an hour and also in the afternoon after his lunch.
