STOMP - Singapore Seen - Thai girl who lost legs: She's ready to move on after MRT horror

Peneakchanasak Nitcharee, 14, lost both her legs after she fell into the path of an oncoming train on April 3. However, almost two months later, the plucky Thai teen is preparing for a life without legs. According to a report in The New Paper today (May 25), Nitcharee can move around independently, clambering onto the wheelchair by herself, as well as showering and going to the toilet unaided. She does physiotherapy exercises with her 56-year-old father every morning at 8am. "I tell the nurse to go away, go away, because I'm shy," Nitcharee said. She added: "My arms are getting so big because of the exercises, but it's okay. It's good for me." The Secondary 3 student said her friends back home have already started the new semester and are waiting for her to go back, but meanwhile, she has made new friends here. She waves to the nurses when she passes them in her wheelchair...
