Minister Khaw outlines his priorities for housing

HDB is the only housing choice for most Singaporean. Firstly, the price of land used to build HDB estate should not link with commercial market, because without the people, there will be no such a nation called Singapore, and we do not need a government filled with million dollar income ministers; Secondly, the supply of HDB flats in the past ten years has been painstakingly reduced without due consideration of demand, it must be rectified immediately; Thirdly, priority should be given to citizen as this is our land. The PAP government was wrong to open gate widely and treat foreigner equal to us. There should be restrictions imposed to outsiders. For example, new citizens applying for HDB must have at least one family member completed national service, or queue for longer period, or pay premium for new and re-sale flats if they cannot wait.
