Hougang and Etoile chairmen in show of reconciliation:

THE two S-League clubs involved in Monday's pre-match brawl at the Hougang Stadium took the first step towards reconciliation earlier on Friday. Amid calls for increased security at football stadiums and harsher punishments for players, Etoile FC chairman Johan Gouttefangeas described the incident - which led to the match between the league's defending champions and Hougang United being abandoned before kickoff - as an 'unfortunate and isolated' one. Speaking at a joint media conference held at the Barrio Chino Bar along Club Street, Gouttefangeas and his Hougang counterpart Bill Ng vowed to come down hard on those involved in the fracas, which resulted in four people being sent to hospital for minor injuries. But they denied that any bad blood existed between the two clubs, refuting suggestions that the incident was a spillover from the corresponding fixture at Queenstown...
