MCYS to support family service centres more

FAMILY service centres will receive more support from the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports to continue doing the good work they do say its Minister of State, Madam Halimah Yacob. There are 37 family service centres and they help individuals and families with a range of problems including financial, marital, parenting and youth issues as well as family violence and other family crises. Last year, the centres handled 25,000 cases for counselling and assistance. She said the centres will receive help addressing key challenges such as increasing the number of social workers, enhancing their professional skills, and strengthening the centre's links with the community.
