I applaud Andrew for this extremely impartial, inspiring and excellent article. Indeed the PM should note that his highly complimented rules of prudence publicised earlier should apply to specifics as well too. Beyond the very important grassroots fairness elaborated so remarkably by Andrew above, i can’t help noting some fundamental questions regarding PAP's perceived clean, incorruptible government that remain unanswered: (i) By unilaterally awarding themselves jaw-dropping tax-free mega salaries + special benefits + customised pensions + astronomical annual increments against public discontent, how could the Govt conduct itself with modesty, decorum and integrity? (ii) Isn't it true that the people voted PAP for a 5 year term which puts the very justification for pensions and runaway annual increments inconceivable? (iii) Does it not appear that the country is becoming ...
