PM Lee presents Gentarasa study grants to 13 students

SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong presented Gentarasa study grants worth almost S$10,000 to 13 youths from the Malay community for being well-rounded students. They excel in both their studies and performance at the 10th Gentarasa. Each of them was given one-off study grant worth S$200 to S$1,300. There were eight recipients last year. Gentarasa is an annual show which is held to foster awareness and appreciation of Malay culture. The theme of this year's Gentarasa is "Bila Bayu Menderu", which means "When the Wind Howls" in Malay. It's the largest Gentarasa show ever, with more than 200 performers. Tickets were sold out as soon as they were available in early March.
