Ex-MP Zainul Abidin Rasheed says he won't run for President

SINGAPORE: Former Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Zainul Abidin Rasheed, has said he is not running for President. He said this when asked at a community event if he was planning to take part in the upcoming Presidential Election. Mr Zainul, a former MP for Aljunied GRC, also said he is still exploring his options. "It's a bit early for me to talk about that, because I want to take a break, and I want to take a look at what options are available," he said. Mr Zainul, who is an advisor to Eunos Grassroots Organisations, said this while attending an emergency preparedness programme on Saturday. Hundreds turned out to participate in the event and learn about safety procedures through various exhibits. The highlight of the day was the fire simulation and evacuation exercise.
