(TTR) 27-year-old Singaporean security officer earning $1400 hesitant to get married

This is a simple supply and demand problem. The larger the supply the lower the cost. In this case the cost to the employer is the salary he has to pay. It will inevitably result in lower income for employee if they are competing in a market where the supply is large and potentially limitless. The reason why the marginalized are suffering in Singapore is because PAP leaders doesn’t understand Economic 101. I remember many years ago they advocated restriction of supply in the medical profession because they claimed it is not affected by the normal rules of economics. Today, we have shortages of medical doctors and have to import foreign ‘talents’. This problem is actually caused by our very popular and likeable George Yeo.
