In the past 3 weeks, barely a month after GE2011, the PAP have been relooking into their unpopular policies and making “radical” changes never quite expected to Singaporeans. While I do not trust the PAP not to err again when given absolute power, I applaud these changes, however small, as a step in the right direction. They have been pushing the right buttons as of today, long overdue and expired for some policies, but so far so good . The resignation of MM Lee and SM Goh is right, the firing of Wong Kan Seng, Raymond Lim and Mah Bow Tan for their screw ups in home affairs, public transport and housing policies respectively is justice done (since the majority can’t vote them out anyway), the reviewing of a morally-corrupted formula to justify a public servant’s salaries is welcomed, Khaw Boon Wah’s commitment to bring affordable Housing to the masses and most important of...
