Regulate sales promoters of health supplements

RECENTLY, I was at a Guardian Pharmacy outlet in Gleneagles Medical Centre when a sales promoter approached me. After a top-to-toe visual scan, she said I was suffering from 'kidney problems', looked 'bloated' with 'severe water retention', and that if I did not consume the products she was promoting, I would likely succumb to 'kidney failure'. I politely thanked her and told her I had multiple allergies and did not need her product. But she persisted and said I would not suffer any allergic reaction. The Slim 10 saga is a warning for consumers to be aware of the supplements they consume. Had I not been a discerning consumer and received a clean bill of health from my doctor, I might have been won over by her 'persuasive' sales pitch. This particular promoter's sales tactic is alarming as she was able to 'diagnose' an ailment with just a cursory look. Are there regulatory ...
