TODAY: Non-voters for GE can apply to restore names #sgelections

SINGAPORE - The lists of voters who did not cast their ballots in the May 7 General Election (GE) is now available for inspection at the Elections Department and designated community centres. As voting is compulsory, the department said yesterday that the names of non-voters will be removed from the Registers of Electors. They will lose their eligibility to vote or stand as a candidate at future elections if their names are not restored. The restoration of names to the registers will close once the Writ of Election is issued for the Presidential Election. Non-voters may apply to have their names restored online through the Elections Department website or submit a hard copy of the application form.
