Unemployed woman who allegedly caused hurt to her Myanmar maid charged with 8 counts of maid abuse

Ang Yeng Mee, 35, is said to have caused hurt to her Myanmar maid Moe Moe Myint, 28, at her home in Woodlands between December 2009 and March last year. She is accused in separate incidents of slapping, punching, hitting her with two ladles, kicking and pushing her head against the wall. Her lawyer S. S. Dhillon sought an adjournment to make representations. The case will be mentioned on June 30. If convicted, she faces a jail term of up to three years or a fine of up to $7,500 or jail and fine on each charge.
