Golden Melody king joins Korean-American band

ONE-time Golden Melody king Nicky Lee is now part of new Korean-American R&B group Aziatix. The Los Angeles-born singer-songwriter made his debut in Taiwan eight years ago as a member of hip-hop group Machi before building up a modestly successful solo career. In 2007, the then 27-year-old was named Best Mandarin Male Vocalist at the Golden Melody Awards - Taiwan's equivalent of the Grammys. On a recent stopover in Singapore with team members Flowsik and Eddie Shin, Lee reassured his fans that he did not have to leave Machi to join Aziatix. Aziatix is in fact the brainchild of renowned Korean-American producer Jae Chong, who is also part of the Machi family. The good-humoured Lee also confirmed that he will continue to release Mandarin albums and joked that he may even get Aziatix to sing in Mandarin although for now, his team mates can only manage a few simple phrases in ...
