Possmei is not used in bubble tea. --PHOTO: NP TWO more brands of juice from Taiwan have been suspended by the Agri-food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) with immediate effect. They are Jin Guo Wan Peach Concentrate Juice and Possmei. Jin Guo Wan failed AVA's test for DEHP, an industrial chemical used to soften plastics but banned in food. Possmei was found to contain traces of the chemical by the Taiwanese authorities yesterday. This follows the AVA's suspension of the Sunlight brand of fruit juice on Monday. The Sunlight and Jin Guo Wan brands are commonly used as ingredients for bubble tea. Possmei is not used in bubble tea. Read the full report in Saturday's edition of The Straits Times.
