Soxal investing S$0.5b to expand operations

SINGAPORE : Soxal, a unit of world's number one industrial gas provider, Air Liquide, has said it is investing half a billion Singapore dollars to expand its operations on Jurong Island. The company is set to increase its supply of hydrogen gas to large energy companies in the Jurong industrial area and extend its hydrogen pipeline. The chemicals and energy sector in Singapore continues to grow, representing 30 per cent of Singapore's manufacturing output. Despite the capacity limit on Jurong Island, the government said expansion in the chemical and energy hub is always welcomed. Minister of State for Trade & Industry and National Development, Lee Yi Shyan, said: "We wish, today, Jurong Island has more space to grow. In fact, we don't mind if it is double the size.
