SINGAPORE: It was an ugly separation between employer and two employees that had allegations of whether a birthday party was a front for a headhunting exercise and whether a birthday song was actually sung. Four months after Walton Singapore's former executive vice-president (Asia), Mr Winston Yau Kwok Seng, tendered his resignation in January 2008, he was slapped with a lawsuit from the Singapore, Malaysia, United States and Canada offices under Walton International Group. Mr William Kevin Doherty, president and chief executive officer of the Walton group, also sued Mr Yau. Walton Malaysia's vice-president (Sales), Mr James Iseli, was also sued by the company and had left in May 2008.
