(TTR) The plight of Singapore Indians

I have given up on the Indian ministers in Singapore. They are not in politics to serve our local Singapore Indians. They are in it for the gold, glitter and glory. Or, is their silent compliance a pre-requisite for political promotions? I don’t know. They cut ribbons, shake hands and wear that occasional turban to go through the motions because they happen to be the poster boys of the festive or commemorative events. Many like Vivian Balakrishnan blink like lost boys during these events. Ironically, VB speaks more Hokkien than he could say two words in Tamil. He describes himself as “raceless”, which in itself is insulting because he is denying the two cultures and heritage that he is born into. Many do not even speak the Tamil language, they are patronising and prefer to associate with other ethnic groups to show how cosmopolitan and cool they are. So, they will valiantl...
