SINGAPORE: Changi General Hospital (CGH) has expanded its hydrotherapy services following increasing evidence of the therapy's efficacy in reducing recovery time for musculoskeletal injuries. The hospital has also expanded this therapy to treat other health problems such as stroke, sports injuries and stress. It now sees about 100 patients per month. Physiotherapists utilise water properties to treat patients suffering from various health problems such as anxiety disorders, muscle tension and depression. Experts said hydrotherapy can sometimes be a better alternative to land-based exercises for those dealing with weight management.
