LIVE, FROM TOKYO: Japan Is About To Get Its Own Post-Disaster "Saturday Night Live" Moment Megan Angelo , On Saturday 4 June 2011, 21:42 SGT "Saturday Night Live JPN," a foreign version of the iconic American sketch show, premieres tonight on Japan's Fuji network. It will start at half the length of the U.S. show -- 45 minutes -- and will, for now, be permanently hosted by a pair of Japanese comics. Koji Imada and Sanma Akashiya are stand-up sensations in Japan. They'll be joined on the premiere episode by comedian Takashi Okamura. The timing of the show's launch -- roughly three months after Japan experienced a massively devastating earthquake -- reminds us a little of the first time "Saturday Night Live" returned to the stage following 9/11.
