BEIJING: China beat Uzbekistan by a solitary goal in a friendly on Sunday, getting their own back on the visitors who knocked them out of this year's Asian Cup. Substitute Gao Lin scored the winner in the 65th minute from a cross by veteran captain Zheng Zhi, state media reported. The home side dominated possession at Kunming's Tuodong stadium, carving out a number of good chances in the first half, but were made to wait for the breakthrough until the second half with Gao scoring soon after coming on. In January, China were knocked out of the Asian Cup after being held 2-2 by Uzbekistan in the group stage.
