5th MINDEF-UK MOD Defence Policy Dialogue
The United Kingdom (UK) Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Defence Ursula Brennan co-chaired the 5th MINDEF-UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) Defence Policy Dialogue with Permanent Secretary (Defence) Chiang Chie Foo today. The Defence Policy Dialogue, which was held in MINDEF, serves as a regular forum for the two countries to exchange views on strategic security issues of mutual interest as well as discuss areas for further defence collaboration. The bilateral talks underscore the good and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and the UK. The armed forces of both countries interact regularly through a wide range of professional exchanges and exercises, both bilaterally and under the ambit of the Five Power Defence Arrangements. As part of her visit to Singapore, Mrs Brennan also attended the 10th Shangri-La Dialogue held from 3 to 5 Jun 2011.
