WSQ framework for clinical research launched

SINGAPORE: Minister of State for Manpower and National Development said the launch of the workforce skills qualifications (WSQ) framework for clinical research on Monday marked a significant milestone for the clinical research industry. Brigadier-General (NS) Tan Chuan-Jin said it will contribute significantly towards the development of manpower in the clinical sector. Speaking at the launch of the framework, he said this is essential as Singapore does not currently have a structured programme for Clinical Research Assistants (CRAs) in the local Institutes of Higher Learning or Post-Secondary Educational Institutes. At present, the existing CRAs have largely acquired their skills through on-the-job-training. At least 360 Singaporeans are set to benefit from the initiative over the next three years.
