Toshiba launching passive 3D TVs for Singapore: These panels deliver flicker-free 3D via lightweight glasses and...

Toshiba will be launching its RW1-series passive 3D TVs in Singapore within the next 2 weeks. Available in 47- and 55-inch screen sizes, they sport ultra-narrow bezels and are styled with inputs from Danish design firm Jacob Jensen. Other major highlights include smart TV functions known as Toshiba Places , as well as DLNA-compatibility and Wi-Fi dongle support. Performance-wise, these panels can produce bright and flicker-free 3D images using lightweight glasses. An onboard Cevo S engine, based on the same Cell technology used by Sony's PlayStation 3, supposedly offers better video-processing, too. Another differentiator is its Active Motion and Resolution (AMR) 200 technology, which, according to Toshiba, reduces motion blur and smoothens moving images.
