Brand's Alpha Tank Chewable Multi Vitamins & Minerals. -- PHOTO: INTERNET "TWO health products from Taiwan have been taken off the shelves for containing a chemical used to soften plastics," said the Health Sciences Authority (HSA). The local distributors of 'Brand's Alpha Tank Chewable Multi Vitamins & Minerals' and 'Naturext Immune+ Probiotic 50B' have voluntarily recalled their products from the market. Additionally, Cerebos Pacific, which distributes the Brands multivitamins, said the product will be permanently withdrawn. A spokesman said DEHP was found in raw materials purchased by their Taiwan manufacturer. HSA said in a media release today it took 'pro-active measures' to test over 100 health products manufactured in Taiwan for the chemical, following reports of DEHP contamination in such products on May 28.
