(TTR) Netizens vow to turn Wisma Atria BLACK to express their unhapiness against PAP ministers’ salaries

As anti-PAP sentiments continue to snowball, netizens vow to turn Wisma Atria BLACK this coming Sunday to say ‘No’ to the PAP ministers’ obscene salaries. The event is spear-headed by ‘Mandy Mary’ and her team of volunteers who are asking Singaporeans to wear black on 12 June 2011 from 12pm to 3pm at Wisma Atria, Orchard to register their unhappiness over the matter: (read more here ) The team recommend that “the ministerial salaries to be pegged to 10x the median wage of about $2500 per month and MP’s allowance to be pegged to 5x the median wage. Under this recommendation, the ministers shall earn up to $37,500 ($25k + $12.5k) per month. All other entitlements and fringe benefits shall remain.” Many netizens agreed that a monthly pay of about$37,500 is reasonable with some calling for an outright cap.
