SINGAPORE: Residents of Punggol South had their first water distribution exercise on Sunday morning. The event was organised by Punggol South Community Emergency and Engagement Committee (C2E) and Punggol Coris RC. The exercise is aimed to raise awareness among residents to always be prepared for peacetime emergencies like a sudden shortage of water or a fire breakout. The constituency plans to make the exercise a bi-monthly affair. Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, who was the guest of honour at the event, shared how residents responded when a flat in his constituency caught fire four months ago. While SCDF officers managed to put it out eventually, he was heartened to learn that neighbours responded first, with their own extinguishers.
