SINGAPORE - There could be respite for motorists travelling from Singapore to Johor, with the Malaysian authorities working out solutions to the traffic jam (picture) that has plagued the Causeway and the Second Link for the second consecutive weekend since Kuala Lumpur rolled out its fingerprint-scanning system earlier this month. Yesterday, Malaysia's Home Ministry secretary-general Mahmood Adam told Malaysia newspaper The Star that the ministry was looking at ways to improve the system to reduce congestion and improve the flow of visitors into the country. He was speaking to the newspaper after a closed-door briefing at the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar Customs, Immigration Quarantine Complex (CIQ) in Bukit Chagar. The steps include installing biometric scanners at the immigration booths so that motorists would not have to leave their vehicles to have their fingerprints scan...
