Ferrari going at 178kmh when it hit taxi in fatal crash

The Ferrari's driver, Mr Ma Chi, 30, died immediately, while cabby Cheng Teck Hock, 52, and his Japanese passenger, Ms Shigemi Ito, 41, died in hospital. -- PHOTO: WANBAO By Khushwant Singh THE driver of the Ferrari involved in a horrific crash at the junction of Rochor Road and Victoria Street on May 12 was speeding at 178kmh when it beat a red light and smashed into a ComfortDelGro taxi. The Ferrari's driver, Mr Ma Chi, 30, died immediately, while cabby Cheng Teck Hock, 52, and his Japanese passenger, Ms Shigemi Ito, 41, a National University of Singapore student, died in hospital. A motorcyclist and a female passenger in the Ferrari were also injured. Three videos were shown today at the coroner's inquiry into the deaths.
