Illegal traps laid to catch wild boar in Singapore forests are maiming & crippling stray dogs instead

The dog was taken to a vet by volunteers. -- ST PHOTO: NURIA LING REPORTS of wild boars spotted in some forested areas of Singapore have resulted in a spate of illegal wild boar traps being laid. Believed to have been laid out by foreign workers, other animals have fallen prey to these wire loop traps. Apart from the occasional pangolin and monkey, stray dogs were hit the most, many losing the use of their limbs after escaping from the traps. Animal activists have even rescued one, which they named Cassie. She has lost three of her legs to the trap. Read the full story in Monday's edition of The Straits Times.
