1 in 3 employers in Singapore plan to increase headcount
SINGAPORE : About one-in-three employers in Singapore plans to increase headcount in the next three months. The Manpower Employment Outlook Survey, which covered 648 employers across seven industry sectors, showed that 32 per cent plan to raise their manpower strength. Manpower Singapore, the recruitment company which conducted the survey, said the jobs are in the finance, insurance and the real estate sector as well as the transportation and utilities sector. The public administration and education sector is also set to expand. The sector that may be hiring less is the mining and construction sector. The survey showed that only 3 per cent expect hiring to fall, while the remaining 59 per cent expect to see no changes.
