GE expense statements open for public scrutiny

SINGAPORE - The returns and statements of election expenses filed by candidates who had contested in the recent General Election are now open for public scrutiny at the Elections Department. Returning Officer Yam Ah Mee gave notice of this in a statement uploaded on the e-gazette on Tuesday evening. The notice showed that returns of expenses were filed by candidates as early as May 16, right up to the June 13 deadline. The National Solidarity Party team, which contested Jurong GRC, filed their expenses on May 16, while the Singapore Democratic Alliance team for Pasir Ris- Punggol were among those who filed their expenses on the last day of submissions. The returns and statements can be inspected at the office of the returning officer, 11 Prinsep Link, Singapore 187949, during office hours on any working day during the six months from the date of the publication of the notice.
