LONDON - EIGHT admirers of anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks and its founder, Julian Assange, are being offered the opportunity to dine privately with their idol early next month at an asking price of 350 pounds (S$705) per head. An announcement posted on the auction website E-Bay said the three-hour fund-raising lunch was set for July 2 and Mr Assange would be accompanied by Slavoj Zizek, a Slovenian academic quoted by Wikipedia as calling himself a 'radical leftist.' The E-Bay announcement described Mr Zizek as a 'renowned Slovenian philosopher'. It said revenue from the lunch will be used 'to benefit WikiLeaks' but gave no detail. The venue for the meal was described only as 'one of London's finest restaurants'.
