PANASONIC kept this camera under such close guard that the demo unit was sent to us in an unassuming dummy box. So what surprises did the GF3, the latest incarnation in Panasonic's super-compact Micro Four-Thirds line of cameras, have in store for us? The biggest notable difference from its predecessor, the GF2, is its lack of a hot-shoe attachment point. The GF3 comes with a 12.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor and Panasonic's latest Venus Engine FHD image processor, letting it capture DSLR-quality images despite its compact body size. It also captures 3D still images, shoots full HD video in professional AVCHD format and comes with an intelligent Auto Plus mode that gives users better control of the image than standard intelligent Auto modes. The autofocus speed has been bumped up from 60 to 120 frames per second, giving the GF3 a much quicker response time when taking photos ...
