Maplewoods residents unhappy with solutions offered

SINGAPORE : Residents of Maplewoods condominium are hoping for better solutions to the problems resulting from the King Albert Park MRT construction along Upper Bukit Timah Road. This comes after a dialogue session with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and their MP for Holland-Bukit Timah Christopher de Souza last week. Their concern - the safety of both drivers and pedestrians near the condo. LTA had offered retaining the footpath after pedestrian safety concerns were voiced. But keeping it means the footpath will have to be narrowed to accommodate construction works. Michael Morris, member of the Maplewoods Management Council said: "We've built this mock-up to show what that walkway would look like at its most narrow point. The available space would allow for a walkway that varies between 0.9 metres and 0.3 metres, and this shows what 0.3 metres is." LTA had also offer...
