Rory McIlroy followed Luke Donald when he became the second player to win the money list titles in Europe and the United States. The world No1 finished third at the Singapore Open to amass a lead of more than €1m over Peter Hanson and secure the European Tour Race to Dubai title with two events remaining. Last year Donald became the first player to achieve the double but McIlroy, 23, is the youngest European No1 since Sandy Lyle in 1979, who was 21 when he won his first of three order of merit titles. "Winning a second major already made it a fabulous season but then to follow Luke in becoming number one in both Europe and the States is the icing on the cake after a fabulous season," he said.
