NUS most popular when it comes to scholarships

SINGAPORE: The National University of Singapore (NUS) has overtaken the Public Service Commission (PSC) as the most popular scholarship provider among students in Singapore. Four of the university's scholarships are also among the top five favourites among students. This, according to the 2011 BrightSparks Scholarship & Career Survey which polled some 3,000 students online from March to April. "While the PSC is still highly regarded among the best students here, scholarships offered by local universities have become increasingly preferred as they are bond-free, given in large numbers, and allow scholars to have relatively more freedom to choose their course of study," said Mr Lim Der Shing, CEO of JobsCentral Group which owns BrightSparks.
