Google Maps Navigation finally live in Singapore - CNET

Those in Singapore will finally be able to enjoy Google's turn-by-turn navigation feature, starting today. (Credit: Screenshot by Michael Tan/CNET Asia) After teasing us for years, and a false start which made my heart sing and then croak , Google has issued an official-looking letter which positively states that the company will update Google Maps (probably server side) to make Google Maps Navigation work for Singapore. The release also says that the "update will be made available later today (13 November)". Google Maps Navigation is all you need to turn any Android phone with at least version 2.2 of the mobile OS (the iPhones don't get it) into a super-powered formidable (read "Ultimate") GPS which works both online and offline. The latter means that even when you're barely online with a lousy 2G connection, your phone can still function as a GPS with satellite view, Str...
