LONDON: Governments around the world are beefing up their cyber security measures in the face of the growing threats, and Britain is no different. Britain's Ministry of Defence said it comes under cyber attack every eight hours, with 1,000 malicious raids on computer systems a year, which is more than enough to keep cyber defenders busy. "They work in secrecy, and we have some of the best mathematicians, and computer experts available to us, who are out there tracing the attacks, classifying them, and working out ways to stop them," said Mr Rupert Goodwins, editor of the ZDNet UK. The UK is increasingly working with military allies at NATO on cyber security co-operation, with sources talking of threats to IT systems from Russia, China and organized cirminal gangs.
