South West CDC rolls out healthy lifestyle programmes for families

SINGAPORE: The South West Community Development Council (CDC) will be rolling out a series of programmes to help families, beginning with low income families, adopt a healthy lifestyle. These families will be adopted under the "Adopt-A-Family @ South West" programme. They will be mentored by grassroots volunteers and be provided with social support and encouragement to manage stress and issues during challenging times. This is in addition to the other social and financial assistance that are given to these families to help them eventually become self reliant. The Health Promotion Board (HPB) is supporting South West CDC in training the grassroots volunteers. Another healthy lifestyle programme to be piloted is targeted at the youths.
