Photographer Abbas showcases works

SINGAPORE: He has been described as a living legend in the world of photography. And from 18 June, Singaporeans will be able to experience for themselves the works of acclaimed photographer, Abbas. The pictures by the Iranian photographer, who is based in France, offer a glimpse into a world few have experienced. Ms Lee Chor Lin, director of National Museum of Singapore, said: "His pictures are very important to us because they really capture our imagination. What you see really is a snapshot of all the events that shaped and changed the world - Vietnam War, Palestinian conflicts. I think his most iconic work is the Iranian Revolution." As a photojournalist, Abbas' work has taken him around the world and back, and his photographs have become iconic images that define and forever immortalise historical events.
