PM Lee on panel at WEF event - #WEF

Jakarta - Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will participate in the opening event at the World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia which begins here today. The WEF is being held for the first time in Indonesia, in yet another sign of the country's growing presence on the world stage. More than 600 participants will be present. Among them are world leaders and the chief executives of major companies from 40 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, the United States and Russia. Their discussions will cover sustainability and security, regional leadership, economic competitiveness and growth around the theme of 'Responding to the New Globalism'. PM Lee will be a panellist in the forum's special opening session with Indonesia President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and others. It will be moderated by WEF executive chairman Klaus Schwab.
