Singaporeans quick to help foreign victims, raising more than $1m for foreigners in distress in the last decade

In the last decade, more than $1 million has been raised by those touched by the hard luck stories of foreigners who were injured or met with a tragic end here. Social workers and sociologists say the willingness to donate to foreigners may stem from the assumption that those in Singapore are already well cared for.
