Ah Boys to Men will return next year after securing biggest opening weekend ever for a local movie

SINGAPORE - Ah Boys to Men, which secured the biggest opening weekend ever for a local movie at the local box office, is set to return next year. This comes against a backdrop of an increasing number of 'Made In Singapore' films, with 13 new films expected from local producers for the next year, double the number of films made in 2002. Box office takings jumped 1.5 times compared to 2002 figures to S$9.2 million in 2011. The slew of upcoming local films was announced by the Media Development Authority (MDA) today as Singapore gets ready to host more than 4,000 film and television trade delegates from 60 countries at next month's Asia TV Forum & Market | ScreenSingapore 2012 event, where local players are expected to have a strong showing at the Singapore Pavilion.
