Adobe Systems, the largest maker of graphic-design software, reported second-quarter sales that exceeded analysts' estimates, rebounding from a disruption in demand caused by the March earthquake in Japan. Profit excluding certain costs in the period, which ended June 3, rose to US$0.55 (S$0.68) a share, Adobe said in a statement yesterday. That compared with the US$0.51-a-share average analyst projection in a Bloomberg survey. Revenue increased 8.5 per cent from a year earlier to US$1.02 billion, topping analysts' estimates for US$995.7 million. Second-quarter net income increased 54 per cent to US$229.4 million, or US$0.45 a share, from US$148.6 million, or US$0.45, a year earlier, the company said.
