Japanese carrier DoCoMo expands internationally, sets up shop in Singapore by @jonrussell

Japanese operator NTT DoCoMo is expanding its international reach after revealing it will launch a wholly owned subsidiary in Singapore, offering a range of telecom services for Japanese speakers in the country. The new business is slated to begin operations on January 1 2013, and will be a sales agent of StarHub , the country’s second largest mobile operator. “DoCoMo Singapore will support Japanese speakers in the local area with sales of mobile phones, cable television and broadband Internet. It will also provide advice in Japanese regarding billing plans, handset use and registration processes,” an announcement explained. As a result of the launch, the operator’s country office in Singapore will be shuttered after seven years, with DoCoMo Singapore assuming its existing business and responsibilities.
