Power Your Gadgets Just By Using Them Researchers from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology have recently discovered a way to turn mechanical energy into electrical energy. Their method revolves around utilizing piezoelectric materials to generate electrical currents when sufficient force is applied to them. The kicker here is that this can potentially be applied to very thin film, which in turn can be placed on top of all manner of gadgets, including laptops and tablets. Typing, or even touching these coated devices will then be able to power said devices, resulting in an almost endless supply of energy.
